  1. the doorway to the left should be front entrance – no covered porch or columns etc – just a carve out with just one window along the loft above the door. (Books along loft wall) like above and as can be seen here (we are smaller but you get the idea…)
  2. the doorway to the kitchen hall entrance should be the same, a small enclave – we can move the door to the pantry closer to bathroom, with the pocket door sliding towards the outside parking area rather than towards bath door – should give us the room we need for the enclave carve in – – rather than a gabled end set above posts –
  3. and the light dormers above should be 2 rectangular areas with three windows each – not dog house dormers – please like here… (please note the slick way the roof folds out from roof –
  4. the roof line from den/kitchen through to above covered patio should be one even rafter – and I see that as i increase the pitch the roof rises higher as you explained – maybe for that roof line we go lower? I really like the look – as we look east to front of house alvah’s at our back – of basically two stone gable ends left and right and a lower roof line running between them – more humble – lower than the gables – like a bastardized “H” – but if it has to be higher i would prefer the roof lines to be equal – if that makes sense, like here (I imagine it costs less too)
  5. Regarding the master suite and the dining area and the wall by kitchen basement stairs down, i think we should eliminate the extra windows above and go with as tall as we can and as wide as we can like shown here… and here in this photo
  6. The wash dryer and pantry areas – are we doing 2 windows aside?
  7. the roof should be all black standing seam – I am looking at some fake slate options – would really match the below pictures but probably a lot more money that steel…?
  8. the entire house exterior and elevation should match the links above and the photos below. Let’s try for the total stone exterior – wide black windows – (more glass = less stone) roof lines (except for porch) ends right at walls – and all crisp clear sharp lines, no trim – I call it modern Cotswold
  9. the covering for the porches, also steel , on the north side (these are actually east elevations, not north – we are looking at these with alvahs lane at our backs) should be a run off from the roofline above (if possible) – the study porch should have an open structure like this that we can frame out in black wood
  10. windows all black – and composite or metal interior and exterior – I do not want wood interior – which limits us with Anderson only one line has interior that is not wood see this link – https://www.andersenwindows.com/windows-and-doors/windows/single-hung-and-double-hung-windows/compare/
  11. here is the Pella comp – both black fiberglass – https://www.pella.com/shop/windows/double-hung/?options=Products=Windows|product-type=double-hung|material-type=fiberglass|Interior%20Finish=Black|Exterior%20Color=Black
  12. Speaking of the windows, save for the occasional upper lintel (I assume for rain protection – please note there is no trim – windows are flush with walls as can be seen here…
  13. please note on the below photos that the end walls are just slightly wider than the side walls as you can see here : and you can see here and even see here
  14. I have no idea what I am looking at here…
